Greenhouse Effect Responsible For Global Climate Change

Global Climate Change

For many years, scientists have been doing studies to determine different reasons for global climate change. Global climate change suggests that the average weather of the planet is changing. Most scientists claim that one of the main reasons for global climate change is the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is the term used to explain the process in which several gases form a layer around the planet that traps the heat from the sun inside the layer. There are plenty of scientists and experts who study global climate change that suggest we start changing our ways and that we make that change very quickly.

* The greenhouse effect was discovered in the early to mid 1800s. The gases that are included in the greenhouse effect started being produced more rapidly during the industrial revolution in the mid 1800s.

* The government has invested very large sums of money in order to research and develop alternative and renewable forms of energy. If we keep using foreign oil, not only will we continue to destroy our planet with greenhouse gases, but we will become bankrupt.

* Two of the best sources of alternative energy are wind and solar power. Wind power works by giant windmills that create and store energy when they spin, which is obviously a result of the wind. The problem with wind power is that the windmills are gigantic in size and there must be many of them in one location. These windmills are very expensive and many critics get concerned simply because it is not always windy and that could effect its production. Solar power works with a large panel or series of panels that create energy from the rays of the sun. As long as there is light, these panels are creating and storing energy. Solar panels are also very expensive which concerns critics as well.

There are many other sources of renewable energy, but every option comes with concern about cost, productivity, sustainability and long term benefit. President Barack Obama is the most active president when it comes to alternative energy in recent history. The stimulus package that his administration passed, included billions of dollars for research and development of alternative energy. President Obama is doing everything in his power to not only keep America competitive in the 21st century, but to make the country financially sound and the planet cleaner. When the scientific evidence of global warming is overwhelming, there is no reason not to act. America must lead by example once again in order to provide a cleaner planet for future generations.
