Since the government is having trouble passing legislation that will help prevent global warming and create clean energy, many American citizens have taken it upon themselves to live a green lifestyle. Climate change is becoming a bigger threat to our world everyday and green jobs are hard to come by. So instead of waiting for the government to stop their partisan bickering, people have come up with better ways to promote a green lifestyle that will help our planet. Leading a green lifestyle does not require making dramatic changes to your life. The best ways to be green are very simple.

* For starters, try to do all of your shopping at either one store or as few as possible. For example, stores like Wal Mart, Target or Whole Foods have a wide selection of not only food but other items such as clothes and hygiene and entertainment products. Limiting the amount of stores you shop at will reduce the amount of gas you use to get from store to store.

* When you go shopping, purchase a few canvas bags to put your groceries in so you don’t waste the plastic bags that most stores give you. These are great first steps to living a green lifestyle. An obvious and easy way to become green would be to recycle. It is the right thing to do and really makes a difference in the world.

* If you use your printer a lot, change your computer settings so that your printer prints on both sides. This will reduce the amount of wasted paper, save trees and prevent you from driving your car to buy more computer paper.

* This might be one of the harder ways to become more green, but if possible, walk or ride your bike to where you need to go. If that is not an option, use public transportation. This will also reduce the amount of gas.

There are thousands of other ways to become more green and all of them are effective. Unfortunately, many think that their impact alone is too small and does not make a difference. However, if everybody did their part in making the earth a cleaner place, we would not be in the situation we are currently in. It is the responsibility of everyone on this earth to save as much energy and create as little greenhouse gas as possible. Now if we can just convince the government to do the same, we would be in much better shape.

Republicans Have No Global Warming Solutions

Many republican elected officials have stated that they are not in favor of passing legislation issuing global warming solutions most likely because they do not believe global warming exists. Democrats know how to stop global warming but are having trouble passing legislation because of the republican’s demand for a super majority in order to pass anything. There are several different types of global warming solutions like developing new kinds of alternative and renewable energies such as solar, wind and geothermal power. Investing in this will create millions of new jobs, which will put Americans back to work and stimulate our economy. The list of global warming solutions also include producing more electric cars like RAV4s and hybrids. This will substantially reduce the amount of pollution that gas powered cars create and it will also create more jobs. The democrats do not claim to know how to stop global warming from their own basic knowledge. These global warming solutions come from scientists who have evidence that proves that not only does global warming exist, but explains how to stop global warming. Al Gore Warns About the Effects of Global Warming

In 2006 Davis Guggenheim directed a film that documented former Vice President Al Gore’s findings about dangers and effects of global warming. The film “Inconvenient Truth” explains global warming effects on the planet and various steps we can take to prevent further damage. While he has always been a strong promoter of climate change, it was not until after the 2000 presidential race that he made it a primary focus. The film was very successful in the United States and abroad. Many of the film’s viewers claimed to be more aware of the effects of global warming after watching it. Some viewers also said they changed many of their ways of life after learning about global warming effects on the planet. Global warming effects all of us living on planet Earth in many ways. Liberal Politics and Gay Marriage

There are many Americans who believe that any American citizen should be able to marry who ever they want. Whether that person is of the same sex or not. Liberalism promotes freedom and liberty for all people. The conservatives who are against gay marriage have never presented much of an argument. Liberal politics should not play a role in this issue, because this has to due with individual rights. If a man wants to marry another man, that will not effect anybody else besides the two men getting married. People who believe in liberalism believe that anybody should be able to do what they want as long as it is not harming anybody else. Those who object to gay marriage claim that gay couples should not receive the same tax benefits as straight couples, but why? If a gay couple receives tax benefits how does that effect anybody else? The main argument that conservatives make is that gay marriages ruin the basic institution of marriage. However, that is based on opinion and it is also unclear on how the effects anybody personally. Global Warming Prevention

Global warming prevention seems to be a top priority for many liberals. In order to stop global warming, activists must continue spreading their message to the country and to the world. Although advocates for global warming prevention are strong in numbers, their political opposition have the power and influence. If people want to stop global warming, they will need liberal politicians who also believe in global warming prevention to get legislation passed. Now is the time to do this. The liberal democratic party has the majority. Although they have currently lost their 60 to 40 super majority, they still have the seats to use reconciliation. Reconciliation is a method used in both the House of Representatives and the Senate in which a bill can be voted on without the opposing party being able to filibuster. Instead of the democrats, who are trying to stop global warming needing 60 votes, in reconciliation they would need 51 votes. This makes the process of getting global warming legislation passed much easier. Many of the activities we do on a daily basis produce greenhouse gases that disrupt the way our planet works in relation to the sun and its energy. Global climates have become warmer due largely in part because of greenhouse gases that are produced by man. These gases are dangerous to our earth’s atmosphere. For many years, scientists have been doing studies to determine different reasons for global climate change. Global climate change suggests that the average weather of the planet is changing.
