In November of 2008 it seemed that the majority of American citizens had liberal views on the country. We had elected a liberal President of the United States. After eight years of an extreme conservative controlling the White House, it seemed to make sense to have a person with liberal views fix the problems created by the conservative. Barack Obama has what some call extreme liberal views on the world and he ran on a liberal platform. From his beliefs on health care to the economy, as well as his education and energy policies, it is his liberal views that made him so popular with the American people. * President Barack Obama believes that the government should provide an alternative health care insurance option for those who do not already have or are not happy with their own insurance. Not only would this provide health insurance to those who are unemployed or cannot afford it, but it would create competition by forcing insurance companies to lower their rates and improve care.
